Job Description
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to join our remote team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust cloud-based systems, automate workflows, and ensure high availability and performance of our infrastructure. You will work closely with development and operations teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and enhance system reliability, contributing to Baobab’s mission of delivering seamless, scalable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions to automate software delivery.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to ensure scalable and repeatable deployments.
Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and reliability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and ensure seamless integration of development and operations processes.
Enhance system security by implementing best practices, such as IAM policies, encryption, and vulnerability management.
Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem processes to minimize downtime and improve system resilience.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging tools to drive continuous improvement in DevOps and SRE practices.
Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, Azure VMs, or Google Kubernetes Engine).
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Understanding of cloud security best practices and networking concepts (e.g., VPC, DNS, load balancers).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
Familiarity with agile or Kanban methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.
Prior experience in high-traffic web or SaaS platforms, focusing on scalability and reliability.
